Abstract. Rumape O, Kilo A, Ischak NI. 2022. Amethyst leaf extract as pest control and fertilizer for soybean plants. Biodiversitas 23: 3355-3363. (Datura metel L.) is a plant that grows develops in the Gorontalo area, people use it traditional medicine. This has natural insecticidal activity not yet known by general public. So far, results of research on insecticides from amethyst have only been tested small scale laboratory, applied large garden. The purpose this study was to leaves apply an inhibitor feeding insect mortality both laboratory gardens. were extracted using methanol, n-hexane, ethyl acetate. extracts phytochemically determine type secondary metabolite, before applying it. Phytochemical test showed contain alkaloid, flavonoid, terpenoid, saponin. application treatment bioactivity used variations concentration fractions (methanol, acetate n-hexane), namely 1.0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, 10%; 0% control. In contact 5 insects Spodoptera litura instar III each with 3 replications. Observation parameters percentage decrease larvae. garden, varying concentrations same soybeans treated liturain closed container, other sprayed plants left exposed. three could kill pests, but n-hexane most effective compared methanol extracts. Amazingly, whose yellow turn green after being given extract. indicates metabolites are also fertilizers.

Effects of starter nitrogen fertilizer on soybean root activity, leaf photosynthesis and grain yield
The objective of this study was to examine the impact of starter nitrogen fertilizer on soybean root activity, leaf photosynthesis, grain yield and their relationship. To achieve this objective, field experiments were conducted in 2013 and 2014, using a randomized complete block design, with three replications. Nitrogen was applied at planting at rates of 0, 25, 50, and 75 kg N ha-1. In both ye...

The critical period of weed control (CPWC) in crops depends on many factors including supply and availability of nutrients. In order to investigate the effect of starter fertilizer on the CPWC in soybean a field experiment in a randomized complete block design with four replications in a factorial arrangement was conducted at the Agricultural Research Farm of Razi University, Kermanshah, Iran. ...

Ammonia (NH3) is produced from atmospheric nitrogen and hydrogen from a hydrocarbon source. Natural gas is the most commonly used hydrocarbon feedstock for new plants; other feedstocks that have been used include naphtha, oil, and gasified coal. Natural gas is favored over the other feedstocks from an environmental perspective. Ammonia production from natural gas includes the following processe...

Leaf senescence constitutes the last stage of leaf development in plants and proceeds through a highly regulated program in order to redistribution of micro- and macro-nutrients from the senescing leaves to the developing/growing plant organs. Initiation and progression of leaf senescence is accompanied by massive sequential alterations at various levels of leaf biology including leaf morpholog...
